About Nikaxu

Purpose-built AI. Production-proven.

We turn AI investments into working production systems for maritime and asset-intensive operators — purpose-built for your operation, delivering measurable value fast, and providing your team with full control of what gets built.

COMPANY STORY

Nikaxu was founded by six people who had already spent careers delivering complex AI and digital systems for large organizations in asset-intensive industries — at Nokia, Finning, MDA, and Silo AI, Europe's largest private AI lab at the time, with over 400 AI scientists.

When AMD acquired Silo AI in 2024 and refocused its work on hardware optimization, the team chose to continue that client-focused, operationally-grounded work independently. Nikaxu was incorporated in October 2024. Within four months, the company had secured its first engagements, including a multi-year ITB-obligated project that became AURA APM — a commercially deployed platform that gives shipowners and operators unified control over maintenance, dry dock management, and fleet performance

We build for your specific operation — no platform in between, no generic product adapted to fit. You own what we build: the code, the models, and the knowledge of how it works, with no vendor lock-in and no licensing dependency. And our definition of done is production — a running system, not a report or a proof of concept that stalls before it reaches your operation.

Built for a broader stage.

Canada was a deliberate choice. The National Shipbuilding Strategy, Canada's defence modernization agenda, and the digitalization of its port and industrial base are funded, active programs with genuine demand for production-grade AI delivery.

Nikaxu's ambition extends further. The Icebreaker Collaboration Effort (ICE) Pact — the trilateral partnership between Canada, the United States, and Finland to build the next generation of Arctic and polar icebreakers — is creating a coordinated industrial ecosystem that Nikaxu is positioned to serve across all three member nations. Three of Nikaxu's six founders are Finnish, with deep roots in the engineering culture that has designed approximately 80% of the world's icebreakers. The company is Canadian-incorporated, with active engagements at Canadian shipyards and a presence in both the US and Finnish markets.

The AI and digital systems capability Nikaxu brings — purpose-built solutions, embedded into existing operations, owned fully by the client — is precisely what these programs need as they scale.
