Nikaxu was founded in October 2024 by five people who had already spent years building production-grade software and AI together, long before there was a company to name.

Four of Nikaxu's founders first worked together at Digitalist starting in 2018. Niemi built a Silo AI team in Vancouver, bringing his colleagues onto the Aura project in summer 2022. The same project continues today under Nikaxu, in partnership with Elomatic. This is where the founders met Vlad.
In 2024, AMD acquired Silo AI. The five continued the same kind of work independently, choosing Canada deliberately for its alignment with national priorities in maritime, defence, and industrial digitalization. Nikaxu was incorporated in October 2024.
Two of the five founders bring roots in Finnish engineering culture, home to roughly 80% of the world's icebreaker designs.
Nikaxu operates across Canada, the United States, and Finland.

What We Build
Nikaxu builds custom AI and digital systems for asset-intensive operations, whatever the operation actually needs. No platform in between, no generic product adapted to fit. You own what we build: the code, the models, and the knowledge of how it works, with no vendor lock-in and no licensing dependency. Our definition of done is production: a running system, not a report or a prototype that stalls before it reaches your operation.
Since incorporating, that range spans an AI-powered service agent for technical knowledge retrieval, predictive maintenance for large physical assets, a crew management system with predictive simulation, predictive tug scheduling, computer vision-based solutions, and speech analytics for simulation training. Our software engineers and AI scientists bring deeper experience still, having built dozens of production-grade applications across these and other domains over their careers.
Where We Work
Nikaxu works across maritime, logistics, manufacturing, and defence, with operations spanning Canada, the United States, and Europe, with a particular focus on Finland, Germany, and Norway.
