Vessel schedules, yard capacity, and gate flow all run off the same terminal at once. A disruption in one doesn't stay contained: it reaches everyone relying on that terminal the same day. That's the risk Nikaxu tests for before a new system touches more than one asset or process.

 

A data assessment establishes whether the sensor and operational data across the terminal is even there to build on. A proof of concept runs against one crane, one berth, or one process, so a hypothesis gets tested without risking vessel schedules that are already committed. Full deployment happens only once that's proven, and only where you decide to extend it.

PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE

Failure prediction on ship-to-shore cranes

Unscheduled breakdowns on ship-to-shore cranes were cascading across vessel turnaround, yard operations, and gate flow at the same time. A single crane going down disrupted the whole port, not just the asset. A purpose-built predictive maintenance system forecasts crane failure at least four hours in advance, giving the operations team enough lead time to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.

Real-time visibility into vehicle and cargo flow through the terminal

Port operators needed accurate, live visibility into what was moving through the terminal: which vehicles were arriving for import or export, what trucks were moving through the yard, and how that flow lined up against the schedule. Resource planning ran on estimates, billing relied on manual reconciliation, and bottlenecks surfaced only after they had already slowed the operation.

 

A computer vision system built on the port's existing camera infrastructure identifies each vehicle passing through the terminal: source, type, model, and schedule. A second module tracks cargo truck movement across the port area, surfacing congestion before it cascades into yard delays, with predictions feeding directly into scheduling decisions.
