Nikaxu Selected for the Canadian Technology Accelerator: Smart Ports
Canadian AI and digital systems company joins Trade Commissioner Service program ahead of ALL ABOUT PORTS and SMM in Hamburg
MONTREAL, Quebec, July 2, 2026. Nikaxu, a Canadian AI and digital systems company for asset-intensive industries, has been selected to join the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) for Smart Ports, a program run by Canada's Trade Commissioner Service through the Embassy of Canada in Berlin. The program prepares a small cohort of Canadian companies offering port technology and digital solutions for entry into the German market, culminating in ALL ABOUT PORTS, a new specialist conference and exhibition focused on digitalization, automation, and sustainability in port operations. ALL ABOUT PORTS runs alongside SMM (Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology) 2026, the world's leading international trade fair for the maritime industry, both held in Hamburg this September.
Selection into the program is based on having a revenue-generating business with technology that is already built and validated in production. Nikaxu's application pointed to production systems already running for clients, including Aura, an asset performance management platform built with Elomatic, and Nikaxu's own predictive maintenance systems, which apply machine learning models to equipment and sensor data to forecast failure before it happens, giving maintenance teams a lead-time window to act instead of responding after a breakdown.
"Predictive maintenance is a forecasting problem," said Vladyslav Sokol, VP of AI at Nikaxu. "You're deciding whether a piece of physical equipment will fail inside a maintenance window, using data most operators already collect but rarely use that way. That's the difference between a system that works in a lab and one that works on a shop floor or in a dry dock."

"Germany runs some of the busiest port infrastructure in Europe, and the problems there, keeping equipment running, keeping maintenance ahead of failure, are the same ones we've already built for in Canada."
As part of the program, Nikaxu will travel to Hamburg in September to participate in market briefings, meetings with identified German port operators and partners, and a site-visit program alongside the conference, ahead of exhibiting at ALL ABOUT PORTS and joining the Canadian Pavilion at SMM.
